Eight Delaware Tech Fall Athletes Earn NJCAA Region XIX All-Region Honors

Eight Delaware Technical Community College fall athletes, from the men's and women's cross country teams and the women's volleyball team, turned in such outstanding performances this past season that they were named NJCAA Region XIX All-Region athletes.
From the women's cross country team, sophomore Gabriella Cortez, of Magnolia, and freshmen Hannah Walker, of Clayton, and Jenna Taylor, of Newark, all earned all-region honors based on their top finishes at the 2019 NJCAA Region XIX Cross Country Championship meet. All three runners finished in the top 7, led by Walker who became the first female Division 1 Region XIX Champion in Delaware Tech history with a 5k time of 22:41.
Four men's cross country team members also earned all-region honors based on their finishes at the region cross country meet. Sophomores Logan Hallee, of Newark, Michael Graden, of Townsend, Matt Phillips, of Newark, and freshman Kevin Cruz, of Middletown, all finished in the top 7. Hallee led the way with an 8k time of 29:47. This was the second straight year both Hallee and Graden earned NJCAA All-Region honors.
Finally, women's volleyball freshman Louisa Re, of Laurel, also received all-region honors thanks to her dynamic play on the court. In 13 matches, Re led the team in digs, and was second on the team in aces, attacks, and kills.
