Meet the November Athlete Spotlight Students

Delaware Tech student-athletes must excel on and off the field as representatives of the College. Each week on the Delaware Tech Athletics Instagram account, one student-athlete is honored for their overall athletic performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment to education.
Here are the students that were featured on Athlete Spotlight this month:
Isabella Denk
Isabella Denk is a second-year member of the women’s volleyball team, a general studies major, and a graduate of Red Lion Christian Academy. As the team’s primary setter, Denk played a key role in this season’s success. Her 531 assists were 3rd most in Region 19, and she also added 234 digs, 37 aces, and 18 assisted blocks. “Bella is our only setter and we literally could not get all of our kills without her,” Head Coach Leigh DeSantis said. “She had a great attitude all season. For not being a traditional setter and for being willing to step up and do this since her freshman year is a testament to her dedication to the team and willingness to be a team player.”
Kat Jiminez
Kat Jiminez is a first-year member of the women's cross country team and a marketing major. Jiminez was the most improved runner in the entire cross country program this year. From her debut meet in September to the national meet in November, Jiminez lowered her personal record time by 3 minutes, 7 seconds. "As the season progressed, Kat showed more and more determination during workouts and races," Head Coach Mike O'Brian said. "She ultimately ended her season on a high note with a personal best."
Syed Myles
Syed Myles is a second-year member of the men's basketball team, a marketing major, and a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. Myles was the team's leading scorer last season and has picked up right where he left off this season by averaging 23.3 points per game along with 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in the first 9 games of the season. "Syed's quiet leadership is such an example to our new players," Head Coach Richard Rago said. "He is a determined winner who respects and is respected by everyone - teammates, opponents, or fans."
