Meet the February Athlete Spotlight Students
Delaware Tech student-athletes must excel on and off the field as representatives of the College. Throughout the season on the Delaware Tech Athletics Instagram account, one student-athlete is regularly honored for their overall athletic performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment to education.
Here are the students featured on Athlete Spotlight this month:
Keyon Scott
Keyon Scott is a first-year member of the men's basketball team, a general studies major, and a graduate of Dover High School. Scott has started in 13 of Delaware Tech's 28 games, and is the team's third-leading scorer. He finished the season averaging 22 points per game over the final four games. He also led the team in assists and finished tied for second on the team in steals. "Keyon continues to up the tempo and strength of his game even in light of our losing streak," Head Coach Richard Rago said. "He does not and will not let his teammates quit. There is no question that we will be building our future around Keyon."
Kory Pritchard
Kory Pritchard is a second-year member of the baseball team, a graduate of Appoquinimink High School, and a general studies major. Pritchard has had an exceptional start to the 2023 season, hitting three home runs with seven RBI in the team's first six games. He is batting.500 with a .524 on base percentage. Defensively, he has played a vital role as the team's starting centerfielder. "Kory is the epitome of hard work paying off for a student-athlete," Head Coach Stu Madden said. "Kory has worked extremely hard to get himself into the position he is in. He is not only excelling as our leadoff hitter on the field, but has become a leader off of the field as well. He was a big part of developing and leading our offseason program. Kory is a big part of our success, and is a great example for younger players to model their effort and attitude after."
