Delaware Tech hosts a variety of special events each year to support our students, recognize alumni accomplishments, recognize donors and promote student success. All are welcome to join us as we celebrate Delaware Tech!

College Wide

Global Understanding Series
Held throughout the year
Delaware Technical Community College presents a Global Understanding Series that features programs and workshops free to the community, Delaware Tech students and staff. Global Series presentations and performances are generally 60 minutes long, and provide a personal perspective on a global issue, region, culture, or people.

One Million Cups
Held throughout the year
1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Every Wednesday morning, one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session with the audience. The College hosts three One Million Cups programs across the state of Delaware.

Open House / Info Sessions
Held throughout the year
Please join us for one of our upcoming campus Open House or Info Session events. Talk with students, graduates, and instructors representing more than 100 degree, diploma, and certificate programs. We’ll provide you with information about college admissions, services for students, transfer and connected degree options, financial aid and scholarships, and much more.


Chocolate 5K Run/Walk
Held annually in February
This annual event raises funds to benefit the College's Study Abroad Scholarship recipients. These scholarships provide deserving students with the opportunity to learn through immersion about countries and cultures worldwide.

Distinguished Alumni Recognition
Held annually in April
A ceremony to celebrate the success, excellence and outstanding achievement in the professional careers of Terry Campus alumni.

Donor Appreciation Luncheon
Held annually in the Fall
The Donor Appreciation Luncheon acknowledges and honors individuals and businesses who contribute to student success by providing generous financial support to the Terry Campus.

Economic Summit
Held annually in September
The Summit brings together citizens, community leaders, business leaders and local government officials to provide an authoritative voice on economic development and related issues within the County.

Gourmet Gala
Held annually in October
The Terry Campus Gourmet Gala is an elegant, black-tie-optional affair organized to generate funds for scholarships for students with unmet needs.


Social Media Conference
Held in February

Starry, Starry Night Gala
Held annually in April
Starry, Starry Night is by all measurable standards a huge success, earning hundreds of friends for the college and raising more than $1million dollars since 2000.

Women's Day
Held annually in March
The annual Women's Day Celebration recognizes the dedicated women who have overcome personal or professional obstacles and made a positive impact on their communities or in the state of Delaware.

Run, White and Blue 5K
Held annually in September
The Run, White and Blue 5K Run/Walk event raises proceeds for the Delaware Technical Community College Owens Campus veterans' scholarship fund.

Alumni Walk of Success
Held annually in September
This award recognizes Owens Campus graduates who have made significant contributions to their communities through their academic and career achievements, community service, and personal accomplishment.

Sussex County Today & Tomorrow Conference
Held annually in October
Connect with businesses, schools, elected officials, media and organizations to discuss the future of our county.

Legacy Society Induction
Held annually in November
A special group of people who contribute cumulative lifetime gifts of at least $50,000 and/or have announced their intention to leave a donation to the college via a bequest, charitable gift annuity, or another form of planned giving.

Donor Appreciation Reception Event
Held annually in November
The Donor Appreciation Reception is an event to recognize those individuals who have given so generously to the Owens Campus and its students.

Saturday Before the Season - Village Shoppes & Fashion Show
Held annually in November
All proceeds from the event will fund study abroad scholarships for Owens Campus students. These opportunities enable our students to acquire an international outlook and provide them with a competitive edge in the global job market.

Mardi Gras
Held annually in February
An Evening of Mardi Gras: an exciting, fun-filled evening with exceptional New Orleans style music, entertainment, casino games, food and celebration. This event will raise funds for Delaware Tech's Educational Foundation while developing and strengthening community friendships.

Science Fair
Held annually in February
Challenging New Castle county students to explore the world through math, physics,
social science, biology, zoology and computer science.

Alumni & Friends 5K Run/Walk
Held annually in October
The Alumni & Friends 5K Run/Walk event raises money that will provide scholarships to Delaware Tech students through the Alumni Board Scholarship Fund.

Flavors of the World
Held annually in October
The annual Flavors of the World, an international food and wine tasting event, raises proceeds that benefits study Abroad Scholarships at Delaware Tech.
