WILMINGTON - On October 8, 2015, an awards luncheon was held to honor the recipients of the 2015 Delaware Governor’s Bioscience Fellowship at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington.
On October 7, Delaware Tech’s Stanton and George Campuses held the 8th Annual Alumni and Friends 5K Run/Walk at the Riverfront in Wilmington. The event raised $16,000 for student scholarships through the Alumni Board Scholarship Fund.
Dr. Mark T. Brainard has been named the recipient of the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 1 Pacesetter of the Year award. This award recognizes a community college chief executive officer who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to marketing and communications and strong personal leadership for college outreach endeavors. GEORGETOWN - The Georgetown Police Department has started its first cadet program. Cadets are tasked with more of a community relations responsibility rather than enforcement. They have been working concerts, farmer’s markets, and foot patrols in the business areas of Georgetown.
Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Technologies students and instructors from the Stanton, Terry and Owens campuses recently attended Steel Day 2015, hosted September 25 by B&B Welding Company, Inc. in Edgemere, MD.
This year’s Delaware Tech cross country and volleyball programs are in the midst of a historic season. And while they are doing well in competition, history is being made as the College’s athletic teams are comprised of students from all campuses statewide. This fall, the men’s and women’s cross country teams have runners from the Terry Campus, Owens Campus and Stanton and George Campuses.
