The Learning Communities collegewide leadership team held the 2016 Learning Communities Summer Institute July 25-28 at the Terry Campus in Dover. This was the fifth annual 30-hour training for new learning community instructors.

DELAWARE – Delaware Technical Community College, The Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership (DEMEP) and the Delaware Manufacturing Association (DMA) came together in response to Governor Jack Markell’s proclamation of Delaware Manufacturing Week (Sept. 29-Oct 3), which coincided with National Manufacturing Day, October 3.
WILMINGTON - On Wednesday, October 1, 2014, Delaware Tech’s Stanton/Wilmington Campus hosted the 7th Annual Alumni and Friends 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Alumni Board Scholarship Fund. This fund helps Delaware Tech students to finance their educational dreams. This year’s event, the largest so far, raised more than $15,700.
GEORGETOWN– Community leaders, educators, businesspeople and elected officials will join together to raise public awareness regarding current economic issues at the 21st Annual Sussex County Today & Tomorrow Conference. The event will be hosted on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 7:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.
DOVER - Nearly 300 government officials, leaders in business and education, and community members attended the sixth annual Kent County Economic Summit held Sept. 23, 2014 on the Delaware Tech Terry Campus.
GEORGETOWN - Trisha L. Newcomer was inducted as the 2014 Distinguished Alumni for Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus at a ceremony on Sept. 24.
GEORGETOWN – This year, the Owens Campus made Sept. 11 not only a day of remembrance, but a day to help raise funds for a veteran to attend college.
The inaugural Run, White & Blue 5K took place Thursday, Sept. 11, and raised over $5,000. The proceeds benefited a veteran scholarship to attend the Owens Campus.
COLLEGEWIDE – Delaware Technical Community College President Dr. Mark T. Brainard joined Governor Jack Markell and Secretary of Education Mark Murphy at William Penn High School in New Castle, DE, on Tuesday to talk to seniors about college.
WILMINGTON – Delaware Technical Community College’s Upward Bound program has won a national video contest held by the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE).
COLLEGEWIDE - The News Journal recently reported on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) summer camps held this summer at Delaware Tech campuses statewide. The camps were free to middle school students, and taught them hands-on lessons about renewable energy.
