STANTON - The National Fire Protection Association recognizes October 5 – 11, 2014 as Fire Prevention Week, and this year they are encouraging consumers to test smoke alarms each month. At Delaware Tech, this testing happens on a larger scale, as students in the College’s Fire Protection Engineering Technology (FET) program learn about fire protection from a more global perspective. DELAWARE – Delaware Technical Community College, The Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership (DEMEP) and the Delaware Manufacturing Association (DMA) came together in response to Governor Jack Markell’s proclamation of Delaware Manufacturing Week (Sept. 29-Oct 3), which coincided with National Manufacturing Day, October 3. COLLEGEWIDE – Delaware Technical Community College President Dr. Mark T. Brainard joined Governor Jack Markell and Secretary of Education Mark Murphy at William Penn High School in New Castle, DE, on Tuesday to talk to seniors about college. Full Story

COLLEGEWIDE - The News Journal recently reported on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) summer camps held this summer at Delaware Tech campuses statewide. The camps were free to middle school students, and taught them hands-on lessons about renewable energy. Full Story
