On Monday, June 20, Delaware Tech’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved Dr. Valencia “Lynn” Beaty as vice president for human resources. Dr. Beaty currently serves as the director of human resources at the Stanton and George Campuses, a position she has held since November 2014.
Rowan University and Delaware Technical Community College recently announced a partnership in four associate-to-bachelor’s degree programs in the sciences.
Stanton – On Tuesday, May 17, a reception was held for the 2016 graduates of the inaugural Manufacturing Pathways program.
Robert E. Hagerty was nominated by Governor Jack A. Markell and confirmed by the Delaware State Senate as a member of Delaware Tech's Board of Trustees. Hagerty’s appointment was effective June 10, 2015.
Dover - Congratulations to Tina Gary, program coordinator of the surgical technology program at the Terry Campus, for being named the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) Didactic Educator of the Year.
DOVER - Dr. Joanne Damminger, assistant vice president for student affairs at Delaware Technical Community College, has been selected as the recipient of the Service to NACADA Award.
STANTON - Michael Terranova, chair of the Criminal Justice and Social Sciences programs at Delaware Tech’s Stanton Campus, was recently elected as chairman of the Delaware Police Chiefs’ Foundation.
STANTON - On Monday, June 1, a grand opening celebration was held at the Stanton Campus to officially commemorate the opening of the 20,000 square foot nursing wing. The event featured remarks from Governor Jack A. Markell, Delaware Tech President
STANTON - Fourteen Discover Bank employees recently completed a financial literacy course offered at their job site, in partnership with Delaware Tech. Discover launched the Financial Literacy series to introduce their employees to the basics of personal money management, including the various types of credit as well as investing.
In an effort to increase and diversify College revenue sources, Delaware Tech recently reorganized the development division to include revision of responsibilities and the addition of key positions. As a result, several development professionals have recently joined the Delaware Tech team.
Every year, Delaware Tech employees give generously to the College’s Educational Foundation which provides scholarships for students and enables them to reach their educational goals. Their support also contributes to important college initiatives such as technology enhancements, instructional equipment, and endowment funds for the future support of instruction and student services.
DOVER – Governor Jack A. Markell nominated, and the Delaware State Senate confirmed, Ms. Patti A. Grimes as a member of Delaware Tech's Board of Trustees, effective May 13, 2015. Ms. Grimes replaces Louis F. Owens, Jr., M.D. as the Sussex County appointment.
GEORGETOWN – Megan Cordrey, an early childhood education major from Georgetown, was honored as the first recipient of the Matt Haley Award at the 2015 Celebration of Student Life at Delaware Technical Community Coll
