Public Safety

Delaware Tech is committed to providing the campus community with a safe environment in which to learn and work. We work with administration, faculty, staff, and students with the mutual goal of maintaining order and preventing crime. Public Safety provides a full range of services: public safety assistance phones, safety escorts, lost and found, student identification cards, and a motorist assistance program. You’ll see our officers patrolling the campus on bicycle or Segway, in their patrol cars, or on foot.

We ask that faculty, staff, and students who are concerned about a person and/or his/her behavior complete the Incident/Behavior Report form. Your support of this process is essential. Together we can help ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.

Delaware Tech Public Safety
Delaware Technical Community College's Public Safety is staffed by public safety officers and public safety constables. Our public safety constables are trained law enforcement officers who have been granted arrest powers by the State of Delaware. Officers from the Public Safety Department enforce the College’s rules, regulations, and the appropriate laws of the State of Delaware. The Department is here to provide assistance with issues involving your safety and security. We respond to all reports of criminal or disruptive activity, as well as fire and medical emergencies and traffic and other types of accidents occurring on College property. Delaware Tech Public Safety also maintains a close working relationship with local law enforcement agencies, and when necessary, calls them for assistance.

We are committed to providing a safe campus community for everyone. Please forward your concerns or observations of criminal activity directly to your campus Public Safety Office, and we will make sure to handle it in a timely manner. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this program!
