Connected Degree

Building Automation Systems

to Applied Technology

An opportunity to gain an associate degree from Delaware Tech and a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

YOUR PATH TO A BACHELOR'S DEGREE

Delaware Tech has established agreements with four-year colleges and universities that connect Delaware Tech associate degree programs with bachelor's degree programs to create smooth transfer opportunities for you. These Connected Degree programs enable you to complete your associate degree and then transfer to a four-year degree program as a junior.

THE CONNECTED DEGREE 2 + 2 CURRICULUM

Delaware Tech's Building Automation Systems (BAS) Program leads to an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Energy Management with a Building Automations System option. BAS technicians conduct the hands-on operation of a building's computer networking of electronic devices designed to monitor and control the mechanical, security, fire and flood safety, HVAC and humidity control, and ventilation systems. The program incorporates electronics, energy, and HVAC courses designed to train an entry level controls technician. The Bachelor of Applied Technology builds on the strong foundation in the associate degree program in Energy Technologies: Building Automation Systems at Delaware Tech. Students will complete upper level coursework that emphasizes control system programming and layout, networks used for building controls, advanced electronics, interoperable systems and energy management, and building commissioning. Students will also complete a summer Building Automation Internship. Technical courses include hands-on lab components with work on industry standard and state of the art equipment. Career opportunities include: building automation applications engineer, programmer, service technician, new construction technician, new construction sales associate, service/owner sales associate, project engineer, project manager. Employment opportunities in building automation technology exist with HVAC controls companies; physical plant departments of college, university, hospital, and government buildings; and commercial and industrial facilities.

VALUE FOR YOU

By completing your associate degree at Delaware Tech, you'll receive excellent instruction in small classes at a campus close to home. Delaware Tech's affordable tuition can reduce the overall cost of your college education, making the completion of your bachelor's degree more manageable.
