Delaware Tech has established agreements with four-year colleges and universities that connect Delaware Tech associate degree programs with bachelor's degree programs to create smooth transfer opportunities for you. These Connected Degree programs enable you to complete your associate degree and then transfer to a four-year degree program as a junior.


Delaware Tech's associate degree program in Mathematics Secondary Education offers a curriculum that has rigorous preparation in mathematics and develops competencies in proven instructional strategies. The student will be prepared to transfer to a bachelor's degree program that leads to a teaching career in middle or high school mathematics, or those who are not interested in pursuing a teaching career may transfer to a baccalaureate program in Mathematical Sciences.

The University of Delaware's Bachelor of Science degree program in Mathematical Sciences is suited for students whose goals indicate a high level of concentration or specialization in mathematics. Students are prepared to join the work force in business, industry or government in areas that need strong analytical and quantitative skills or for graduate work in the mathematical sciences or related areas.

+It is recommended that students take SPA 137 and SPA 138 as post-associate degree courses in the third and fourth semesters at DTCC; otherwise, students must complete their language requirements at UD.

^^Students may take MAT 291 Ordinary Differential Equations as a post-associated degree course to transfer for UD's MATH 302 Ordinary Differential Equations.

*Students should check with their UD advisor for group requirements and choices. Choose one course to satisfy the multicultural requirement.

**Math Course - Choose 3 courses from the following: MATH 315, MATH 401, MATH 426, MATH 450, MATH 451, MATH 535.

***Math or Related Courses - Choose additional mathematics or related courses at the 300 level or above with the exception of MATH 308, MATH 379, MATH 380, and MATH 382. At least 6 credits of these must be mathematical sciences.

****Sufficient elective credits must be taken to meet the minimum program requirement of 124.

^^Credits remaining are based on courses taken at DTCC. Students who take MAT 291 at DTCC may transfer the course for MATH 302.

The Bachelor of Science program at the University of Delaware requires a minimum of 124 credits.
RDG 120, Critical Reading and Thinking, is a required DTCC course unless the student is exempt.
Course sequencing may vary by semester. See your advisor.
Initial placement and total credits required in foreign language depend on years of that language taken in high school; maximum of 12 credits required if student must start with 105 level.
