Medical Laboratory Technician
to Medical Technology
An opportunity to gain an associate degree from Delaware Tech and a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.
YOUR PATH TO A BACHELOR'S DEGREE
Delaware Tech has established agreements with four-year colleges and universities that connect Delaware Tech associate degree programs with bachelor's degree programs to create smooth transfer opportunities for you. These Connected Degree programs enable you to complete your associate degree and then transfer to a four-year degree program as a junior.
THE CONNECTED DEGREE 2 + 2 CURRICULUM
The Medical Laboratory Technician associate degree program at Delaware Tech prepares the student who wishes to find employment as a medical laboratory technician in hospital laboratories, independent clinical laboratories, physicians' offices, or community health agencies. Graduates also can be employed as a technician in research centers, pharmaceutical or biomedical laboratories, or as a quality control technician in food processing or manufacturing companies. The program is fully accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The University of Delaware's Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology includes on- and off-campus clinical experiences that prepare students for employment in hospital and private laboratories, in health agencies, industrial medical or biomedical laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, research laboratories, forensic laboratories, and veterinary clinics. Students are eligible for national certification examinations. The major also functions as a Pre-medical curriculum for those interested in medical school, and provides the basis for graduate study.
VALUE FOR YOU
By completing your associate degree at Delaware Tech, you'll receive excellent instruction in small classes at a campus close to home. Delaware Tech's affordable tuition can reduce the overall cost of your college education, making the completion of your bachelor's degree more manageable.
