Delaware Tech Education Leads to Life-long Career

June Crockett came to Delaware Tech in 1976, desiring a career in the medical field. She enrolled in the Medical Technology program at the Owens Campus, largely because of the promise of an internship after graduation. After successfully completing her studies, she completed an internship at the Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Thirty-seven years later, she is still employed at the hospital, serving as the Transfusion Service Supervisor in the hospital’s blood bank. She credits her interest in the blood bank to her mentor and instructor at Delaware Tech, Mrs. Arndt.

Ms. Crockett says that her Delaware Tech education was exceptional, and provided her with the foundation she needed to succeed in her field of choice. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree and said her Delaware Tech classes prepared her well. To students who are considering attending Delaware Tech, Ms. Crockett says that although it is hard work, it will provide you with a strong foundation for the future.
