Medical Coding Specialist

This 410-hour course will prepare students to perform all of the duties required by an outpatient coder as well as prepare students for the National Certification exam.  Students will be introduced to anatomy/terminology, physiology, pharmacology, ICD, CPT, HCPCS, as well as major nationwide medical insurance programs. Upon successful completion of the course, students will sit for the Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based (CCS-P) Examination as well as a one-year student membership to AHIMA.
