Meet the Faculty and Staff
Christine Wolfe
Christine Wolfe is an Administrative Assistant III who has been working for Delaware Tech since 1998. Christine technically began working for Delaware Tech in 1996 when she was a volunteer scholarship coordinator through AmeriCorps VISTA. She is the mother of four daughters, and was raising them while working as a secretary for a custom cabinetry shop, a cashier and billing assistant for a town, and a relief cashier for a bank, prior to coming to Delaware Tech. Once she was hired full time at the College she worked in the Educational Talent Search program under Corporate and Community Programs (now called Workforce Development and Community Education), and remained in that position for over 16 years before her promotion to her current position in Student Affairs. Outside of her work, Christine loves spending time with her family and attending mud bogs with her grandson. She also has a huge passion for muscle cars.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Delaware Tech?
"I enjoy meeting, assisting, and working with everyone (administration, faculty, staff, students). I like knowing that I play a small role in helping Delaware Tech support our students and the community."
Q: Why was it important for you to work at Delaware Tech?
"Delaware Tech is committed to our students and offers those that attend opportunity and hope. Students are able to earn their education to prepare for a new career, brush up on new skills for a current career, obtain a GED, or just simply take personal enrichment courses for themselves. There is something for everyone. Delaware Tech also believes in hiring their own graduates. There are a lot of alumni that work at the college and I am proud to be one of them."
Q: Describe your first day at Delaware Tech. What was that experience like?
"Very welcoming. I remember everyone being very kind and I was very fortunate to be able to develop friendships among my peers very early on. The experience was very pleasant, I knew right away that Delaware Tech is where I needed to be and where I was meant to be."
Q: What changes have you seen in yourself since you started working here?
"I feel my organizational skills and my ability to prioritize and multitask have improved over the years. Another area that I have managed to build on is managing a busy office. When the [Dean of Student Affairs] is off campus or out of the office, she needs to be comfortable and know that the office is covered."
Q: Do you have a favorite memory from your time at Delaware Tech thus far?
"There are so many memories, but I will always remember the feeling when I obtained my degree through Delaware Tech in 2000. I began my college education in 1989 but was not able to return after the first year. When I began working for Delaware Tech I was finally able to finish my degree with the support of my supervisor Ginny Verosko, the Director of Administrative Services Mel Verosko, and my fellow TRiO peers. They had my back and gave me nothing less than their full support. I will never forget that, and will always be grateful."
Q: What's something people may not know about you?
"Retirement is a goal!"
