José Miller

Academic Counselor

José Miller joined the College in 2013 as a student support specialist in the Advising Center. Throughout his career at Delaware Tech, Miller has served in many capacities, including as an adjunct Spanish instructor for the language department, an administrative intern for strategic communication and enrollment, and now an academic counselor. Outside of work, Miller likes to watch movies, paint, and spend time with friends. His future goals include completing his doctoral program in educational psychology with a concentration in program evaluation and measurement.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Delaware Tech?

"My favorite thing about working at Delaware Tech is to help students and make connections with colleagues."

Q: Why was it important for you to work at Delaware Tech?

"Delaware Tech is connected with the needs of its students and the community. The work and programs focus on supporting and helping students achieve their educational and career goals, and I wanted to be part of this important work."

Q: What did you do before working at Delaware Tech?

"Before working at Delaware Tech, I worked as an administrative manager at a clinical research firm."

Q: Describe your first day at Delaware Tech. What was that experience like?

"My first day at Delaware Tech was unforgettable. I began on March 26, 2013 during the Roady Fest event at the Owens Campus. It was a fun-filled day and a wonderful day to start at Delaware Tech. "

Q: What changes have you seen in yourself since you started working here?

"Students are at the center of everything we do; as such, this has become the mantra and the focus of my efforts and work."

Q: Do you have a favorite memory from your time at Delaware Tech thus far?

"My favorite memory is the day I was hired to be part of a great team, and every moment I am able to help students."

Q: What's something that people may not know about you?

"I have artwork that is part of a collection at a museum in Puerto Rico."
