Wilford Oney is a counselor assisting veterans and service members in the Delaware Tech community. He has been working in the education field for 27 years.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Delaware State University and an Master of Education in Elementary Studies from Wilmington University

Q: Why was it important for you to work at Delaware Tech?

"It is important for me to work at DTCC as a mentor to students of color. To encourage the underserved students and to let them know that it is possible to be whatever you want to be!"

Q: What do you like the most about working with student-veterans?

"Assisting them with their well-deserved educational benefits while helping them pursue their educational goals."

Q: What are some of your favorite moments working at Delaware Tech thus far?

"Graduation! Serving as co-chair of the graduation committee for the past 20 years has been rewarding. I also served on the Mardi Gras fundraiser committee for several years, and am an advisor/mentor for the Black Student Alliance (formerly named the Vanguard Society). I love seeing these students achieve and graduate."
