NEWARK – The Delaware Tech women’s basketball team at the Stanton/Wilmington Campus has made strides toward building an exciting team for the 2014-2015 season with six Delaware high school grads signing letters of intent recently.
The six recruits are:
- Sarah Barnett, Delaware Military Academy
- Khaja Hurst, Hodgson Vo-Tech High School
- Tierra Johnson, Hodgon Vo-Tech High School
- Kelly Rozenko, Padua Academy
- Naomi Saunders, Thomas McKean High School
- Hanah Strengari, Alexis I. du Pont High School
Johnson played on her high school’s Silver Eagles’ 2014 Flight B Championship team. Rozenko started on the Padua team that advanced to the state quarterfinals in the 2013-2014 season. Saunders played last season at Salem Community College, NJ, and is looking forward to coming home to Delaware.
“This is a great group of girls, and we are excited to bring this type of talent to our team,” said women’s basketball coach Jim Kane. “It should be a dynamic season.”
The team will start official practices in October at the Stanton Campus, with the game schedule beginning in early November and continuing through February. Delaware Tech is a Region XIX member, competing against teams in the tri-state area (PA/NJ/MD).
