Student Spotlight highlights exemplary students enrolled at Delaware Technical Community College. Students featured come from a diverse background and are excelling in a variety of different majors. These are the future graduates who will make up the workforce of the future.

Student Spotlight highlights exemplary students enrolled at Delaware Technical Community College. Students featured demonstrate qualities of grit, a characteristic that captures people's ability to persevere in the face of difficulty. According to Angela Duckworth, a renowned educator and researcher who focuses on the subject of grit, one’s personal qualities other than knowledge can and do affect an individual's success.


Any Delaware Tech faculty or staff member (full time, part time, or adjunct) or administrator can nominate up to three Delaware Tech students per semester for Student Spotlight. Students may not nominate other students for Student Spotlight.


To qualify, a student must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher and must be in his or her second semester or beyond. The student cannot be on academic probation or be involved in any disciplinary action.


Each nominee interested in participating has their picture taken and answers a few brief questions about their time at Delaware Tech via a Google Form. As space allows, each student will be featured on a poster in the Student Spotlight Hallway at their home campus.
