Bryana Joubert

Respiratory Care

Bryana Joubert, a graduate of Wilmington Job Corps Center, was recommended to enroll at Delaware Tech to further her studies.

Bryana chose the respiratory care path after researching the profession while working as a patient care technician at Wilmington Hospital. "After shadowing a respiratory care therapist, I decided it was the career for me and applied to the program."

Since joining Delaware Tech, Bryana has grown as a member of her field. "I have become more organized with my time and I've become more vocal because, in healthcare, communication is crucial."

When it comes to improving academic performance, Bryana has practical advice for her peers. "If there is anything that will prevent you from getting the grade you want, or succeeding in college, you should eliminate it. Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals for yourself."

Bryana credits Lori Boylan for being a mentor to her during her time at Delaware Tech. "Watching Lori juggle being an instructor for multiple classes and serving as the program chair has been inspiring. She has worked hard to put all her students in the same room as directors of respiratory care departments in the area, along with very successful Delaware Tech graduates. She would always tell us, 'This could be you one day, so never think your options are limited.'"

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Bryana plans to become a bedside registered respiratory therapist while working toward an adult critical care specialty. She has already enrolled in the connected degree program with Wilmington University and plans to return to college in fall 2022 to pursue her bachelor's degree.
