Claire Trimble

Claire Trimble came to Delaware Tech on the SEED scholarship. She wanted to come to college to make her family proud, especially her late grandmother. She chose the occupational therapy assistant program because she wants to, "be a part of an occupation that sees a problem, addresses it, modifies it, then assists in treating it, with the client always at the center and focus of it all."

Claire feels extremely honored to have been selected for Student Spotlight. "It feels amazing. I used to walk through the Student Spotlight Hallway and read the posters. Today, I will be up on that wall – it's an incredible feeling!"

Claire began her journey with Delaware Tech when she was still in high school, and has noticed tremendous personal growth. "I have become more determined to complete classes and more patient with others. I have realized that there will be uphill battles in my life, either big or small, and just to take whatever comes my way and learn from the experience."

Networking with the local community has helped Claire to be successful, and she advises other students to do the same. "Being 30 minutes early to almost every class helps, too. If you have good time management skills, you will likely not be as stressed."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Claire plans to apply for a certified occupational therapy assistant position locally. Additionally, she would like to continue volunteering at a local hospital and teaching high school students at a Catholic parish in Seaford.
