Emilio Pastor Albarracin

Emilio came to Delaware Tech on the SEED Scholarship to set himself up for success. "College provided me with opportunities that my parents never had," he said. "How could I refuse the opportunity to go to college at no cost? Del Tech provides students of all backgrounds the chance to better their futures."

Like many other students, Emilio has overcome many challenges while pursuing his associate degree. "Meeting financial obligations, keeping food in my refrigerator, having a functioning vehicle, and keeping the power on, all while trying to achieve a passing grade; that was challenging."

Emilio chose the general business program to become well-rounded. "General business covers all aspects of life; there is no job or career that doesn't involve business. This program has provided me with an overall understanding of key aspects of business such as accounting, economics, management, finance, and marketing."

Emilio advises students to "immerse themselves in the academic experience" to be successful at Delaware Tech. "If you are not part of any organization that supports the college as well as your interests, you are not fully getting the college experience."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Emilio plans to continue his education in pursuit of a bachelor's degree. "I have built a personal passion for finance. While I am currently heading in the direction of accounting, I am open to whatever opportunities I may come across moving forward. I aim to continue passionately committing the time and tenacity in maximizing life's greatest potential for myself and others. The future looks bright."
