Ioanna C. Grigoriadou first came to Delaware Tech to study the English language, with plans to pursue an allied health career. She attended English as a second language (ESL) courses and continued with English for academic purposes (EAP) courses, and is now pursuing a degree in dental hygiene. "I chose Delaware Tech because of its accredited dental hygiene program."

Ioanna feels very honored to be nominated for Student Spotlight. "It makes me happy because I can be a positive example for the foreign language-speaking students that hesitate to attend college due to the language obstacles that they might find."

Since coming to college, Ioanna feels she has learned how to be more efficient. "I learned how to achieve all my goals even though they seemed unreachable. Moreover, I have developed the way I think for every perspective." She advised students to "be persistent. Do what you love and love what you do. Listen to your instructors' and advisors' advice and do not miss class."

After graduation, Ioanna plans to apply for a job in a Delaware dental office. "I want to be a dental hygienist and enjoy my career journey."
