Jenny Jn Baptiste

Originally from Haiti, Jenny Jn Baptiste came to Delaware Tech in the fall of 2018, enrolling in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. After earning her ESL certificate only a year later, she immediately enrolled in the criminal justice program. "When I first started at Delaware Tech, I had some difficulty pronouncing words correctly. I spent days and night studying. Having learned a new language, I feel prepared for a new life."

Jenny chose Delaware Tech because of the College's reputation for excellence. "Delaware Tech offered me all the opportunities I have been looking for in order to make my dreams come true."

Carey McDaniel, Jenny's instructor, spoke highly of her. "She has put school first and has been careful with her studies as she learns her second language of English. She is professional and articulate and helps others while bettering her language and understanding of the world around her. She has great potential for helping her local and global communities."

Jenny advised students to, "keeping fighting for your future and stay focused. If you can dream it, you can do it."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Jenny plans to pursue bachelor's and master's degrees in criminal justice. She would like to work as an immigration officer.
