Magali Tellez Blancas

Magali Tellez Blancas, a first-generation immigrant, is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing degree (BSN) because she believes, "Without education, your options and income are limited. My income tripled just by completing my registered nurse (RN) degree. College is the best investment I ever made." Magali graduated from Delaware Tech as a licensed practical nurse in 2014 and as an RN in 2017. She will complete her BSN in 2019.

"Delaware Tech has a competitive and outstanding nursing program which is also affordable. I pay out of pocket and I was able to complete my associate degree in nursing without the burden of student loans."

Magali advised other students to, "Let the excuses go and try harder – for a better quality of life, a better job, and more opportunities."

After graduating with a bachelor of science in nursing, Magali will pursue a master's degree and specialize in community education. She wants to become a nurse practitioner with a focus on community education and primary prevention.
