Miray Balsatar

Medical laboratory technician student Miray Balsatar moved to the United States from Turkey in 2014 to pursue a college education. "It was my childhood dream to go to college in the United States. As a first-generation college student, I am determined to achieve my biggest goal." Miray chose Delaware Tech because, "it offers many great opportunities with smaller class sizes. It is important to get one-on-one attention."

Miray grew up in an environment of healthcare workers and always had a passion for healthcare. "I decided I wanted to make a difference in the diagnosis process and work behind the scenes."”

Since coming to Delaware Tech, Miray has become more motivated and productive. "I always push myself to do better. I (also) learned how to manage my time."

Miray advised other students to reach out to their instructors whenever they face obstacles. "Learn to manage your time; it will reduce your stress."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Miray would like to pursue a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science.
