Ricki Minor

Ricki Minor, a human services major, came to Delaware Tech because she was encouraged by her mother to pursue higher education. "My mother had children at a young age and was unable to continue her education. She always encouraged my sisters and me and pushed us in the right direction. I wouldn't be here without her."

When she first came to Delaware Tech, Ricki wasn't sure what she wanted to do. "During my time here, I have gained a passion for my field of study and have grown more confident as a future human services professional."

Ricki is motivated by her two older sisters, who both have human services degrees. "They have both been amazing role models to me over the years. I think watching them do so well in the field made me more determined to finish my schooling and join them."

Ricki advised other students to stay organized, talk to instructors, and ask for help if you are struggling. "School isn't about pride; if you need help, reach out and ask for it."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Ricki plans to continue her education and eventually graduate with a master's degree. She hopes to one day become an elementary school guidance counselor.
