Sam Hopkins

Sam Hopkins is a Delaware Tech graduate who returned to the College to pursue another interest. "I've always been passionate about science and want to work in a laboratory. I've spent the last 10 years of my life as a chef and finally wanted to pursue this passion I've always had."

Between working full time and overtime hours and being a full-time student, Sam doesn't have much free time. "It's very trying, but I have to make this sacrifice while going to school." Sam is still gaining confidence and likes the environment at Delaware Tech. "I like that I can be independent in my studies and know that I can rely on myself to achieve my goals."

Sam advised students to never give up. "Believe in yourself, because sometimes you may be the only one who will. Don't wait – I've waited almost 10 years to try to achieve something I've always wanted to do."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Sam plans to transfer to a four-year college in pursuit of a bachelor's degree.
