Stephen Miller
Stephen Miller came to Delaware Tech to try something different and new. "When we stay in one position for too long, we can become stagnate."
In 2018, Stephen found that he and his family had no support, which led him to study human services and drug & alcohol counseling. "Not only have I learned a lot about helping other people, but I'm rallying my family back to full strength in the process."
Stephen has had to overcome many obstacles while pursuing a degree. "I have obstacles every day – we all do. When the world decided to go low towards me, I chose to go high. Learning about computers and how they are all intertwined was an immediate situation for me. Over time, I have been able to navigate all obstacles."
Stephen's favorite instructor at Delaware Tech is Lisa Lancaster. "She knows me inside and out and has been there for me throughout this college process, improving my mental health. I would also like to mention Stan Rotay, wellness center manager. He has helped me with my physical health."
Since coming to Delaware Tech, Stephen has found himself to be more "aware and resilient. I have learned to stand up for myself and fight for what I believe in, but I also know when to sit back and observe." He advises students to get involved. "Students who are involved succeed more often."
