Todd Atienza

Learning gives nursing student Todd Atienza fulfillment, and that's what led him to enroll at Delaware Tech. Todd is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. "I wanted to live a life of service and I believe that healthcare is the career where I can achieve that."

Todd has noticed many changes in himself since becoming a Delaware Tech student. "I believe that I became more resilient. It also taught me to be more organized and to manage my time efficiently." Todd advises other students to, "take it easy and take it slow. Try to find your true passion; if you love what you're doing, motivation comes easily."

During his time at the College, Todd has persevered through many challenges – both academic and personal. Despite these challenges, Todd has taken a leadership position by leading study sessions for his peers prior to exams. His instructor, Donna Ramage, said, "He has been running these [study sessions] for his last three nursing courses. He demonstrates grit by sharing his knowledge with his classmates."

After earning his associate degree, Todd plans to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner while continuing his education in pursuit of a master's degree.
